Reflections

Year 25, Month 7, Day 5. Evening.

After the fight with the knights, we reached Zhantzher's sanctum in safety. In there, Zhantzher revealed us that most of his kin, the Forsaken, hate both the living and the undead. Their bitter hatred of the living come from the fact that they abandoned them when their needs were the direst, and now can't accept their tormented existance. Their hatred of the undead, specifically the Scourge, is the tortured, void existance that unlife is to any given soul. The Forsaken, under the Royal Apothecary Society are developing a new Plague of Undeath, capable of destroying the living and the undead alike. A deadly weapon that they intend to use to strike at the Lich King.
...But unlike his peers, the wizard does not share those plans. Zhantzher told us that he used to be a Dalaran Wizard in life. He died defending his master, Archmage Antonidas, when Arthas Menethil sacked the city in search of the Grimoire of Medivh. He completely abhors the state of undeath and wishes to develop a cure for it. This is why he asked for the help of a druid and a shaman.
But yet, he would be in great peril if his objectives were revealed to the general forsaken public. The said that the Apothecaries wouldn't be a bit happy about it, and would assassinate him without leaving vestiges, so his research must be discrete. His companions, Kegan Darkmar, Ricter, Alina and Dermot; who shared his will to find a cure, fled the Undercity to Dalaran, in search of help and protection, but both them and their caretaker ultimately were killed by assassins sent by the apothecaries. Fortunately, their efforts weren't all in vain, for Zhantzher at least recovered the Warden's Journal.
Kalos said that the wizard's quest was honorable and was skeptical about his motives at first, but after taking a read at the Warden's Journal, something seems to have caught his interest and decided to help.

Conflict

Year 25, Month 7, Day 5. Afternoon.

Zhantzher has summoned me and Kalos me to his sanctum; some sort of pocket dimension which the secret entrance lies in a ruined tower north of the sewers of the Undercity. We had to fight our way through some red-flagged human knights.

The wizard told us they are the remnants of living humans in Lordaeron, who fight to retake the land. They seem to think that the Forsaken are mindless undead or minions of the Lich King; either of them devoided of free will. They seem to attack any non-human on sight, uttering some words about purification, deception and damnation, from what Zhantzher said. My knowledge of their language is almost nonexistant.
